Drayton State School is developing
a reputation for its sound educational programs and the growth of a great
learning community. With a student population now exceeding 300,
at Drayton SS we are 'Striving with Honour to achieve Success,'
affording our students all of the special features
and resources of larger
centres, whilst retaining the values and traditions of a smaller
family-oriented semi-rural school.
Interschool and team sports, a
strong instrumental and arts program, specialist teaching in language,
health and physical education and an emphasis upon literacy and numeracy
competencies combine for life-long learning. At Drayton SS we strive to
create an atmosphere of mutual trust and support for all children.
Leadership development, educational excursions and enrichment programs
feature, whereby children are nurtured through their formative years by
a dedicated staff, keen to support children in developing as capable and
socially responsible citizens for the future.
We understand that the education of
our students is a shared responsibility involving teachers, parents and
children. Therefore we believe the sharing of information is of utmost

Drayton
State School is located on the beautiful Darling Downs,
approximately
2 hours drive west of Brisbane.
Drayton State
School was first opened in 1851. The first school building was
constructed of slabs and bark to accommodate up to 50 children. Now the
school has over 300 children currently enrolled including Prep students.
We have 15 Teachers, Support Teachers and Teacher's Aids. We now
have 7 buildings including a new Admin Office, Library, Media Room and a
2 classroom demountable. |
